About the event

As we prepare for Season of Creation, reflecting on this year's theme, "Living Waters," this geology walk, led by Chris Cull, is an opportunity to get a new perspective on our little bit of God's creation.

We will meet at 9am (sharp) just north of the Nobbys beach lifesaving building and then walk to Nobbys headland, noting the Hunter flood plain and the Permian geological period, Nobbys tuff, fossils and dyke. We'll then head back along the beach to the baths and the south end of Newcastle Beach. We will see dykes, faults, fossilized wood, layering, a syncline, etc.

The tour takes around 2 ½ hours, with some walking on sand. Wear closed shoes, a hat and sunscreen. There is water and toilets at Nobbys.
