Social Groups & Events

Occasionally, the people who attend St John’s just want to go out and have fun together. We often have social events throughout the year for every group and age. Here are a few of the regularly scheduled events.

Boys’ Night Out

Usually a night at the pub, the men from all 3 services at St John’s meet every few months to bond over a beverage of their choice, food, and good conversation.

Girls’ Night Out

St John’s women from every service meet regularly for dinner and drinks at a local restaurant or pub. It’s a casual drop-in-as-you-can night to chat and laugh with friends.

St John’s Soccer Team

This year is our first entry into competition as the St John’s Cooks Hill soccer team. With games every Saturday afternoon, our players (both male and female) are getting fit and having fun.

Lowdown | various times throughout the year

Get the lowdown on social issues with dinner and an informative talk. In the past, this church dinner and discussion night has included visiting presenters speaking about a variety of issues: Christian Education, Overseas Mission and Justice issues, Death and Dying, Healing, and even an interview with ABC Radio host Carol Duncan. It’s always an interesting and relevant topic.

Lowdown dinners are held at various times throughout the year. Stay tuned for upcoming events.
