Baptism

Jesus gave his disciples the great commission, to go into the world and to baptise in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit

So we just simply follow that command.

Baptism at Saint Johns
All are welcome to come for Baptism. Generally people are baptised at 12.30pm on Sundays, the service goes for about 20-30 mins and is very casual.

There are however provisions for people to be baptised during a regular church service, at 9.00am or 10.45am. This is always special, with lots of people, good music and the whole community of faith praying for you and your child.

Naming Service

Is not a baptism, a naming service just gives thanks for the child, the gift of new life and blessing of a new member of the family.

Those who are unsure of baptism, or do not have a religious identity are those who generally ask for a naming service.

Funerals

Regardless of background everyone who seeks a funeral will be accepted. Generally the practical details are organised via a Funeral Director, however families can always make contact with the church to discuss anything. We aim to suit the funeral service around your needs, to make it meaningful.

Wedding Renewals

At any time, any place - giving thanks for marriage (or other special event), to re-commit promises, to pray and ask God's blessing over you and your family is always an honour and great pleasure.

Just ask - you might be surprised at how happy we are to help you.

Healing Service

At any time we can organise special prayers. Healing services can either be individual, as a group, or as a part of a regular service. One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is that of healing - as a Church we are called to exercise this ministry.

Please do not be shy in asking for the prayers of the church - Christ still works miracles in today's world.

Prayer and Other Services

We are called to prayer - for you, the world, for those we love, and those things that are deep in our hearts. A prayer request is always taken seriously, please be certain of our prayers.

Write, phone, E-mail, ask, place a request on the offertory plate, or there is a box at the back of the church: All these are ways in which you can contact us to pray for you.

"Other services" covers a wide range of activities. There are a very many things the church does and can do. If you share your needs with us, we most probably are able to help you.

Other Activities

Such as: Youth Group, Bible studies, Guild Meetings, Parish meals, Concerts, Women's Activities, Cafe Style Worship, Card Lunches, Guest speakers, Discussion groups, Cell groups, Alpha, Cursillo, .....etc, happen at various times, places and days.

Please join our play group on Wednesday mornings which is aimed at pre-school children. Come and have some fun and fellowship

I haven't put up all the details because often things change to suit the needs of others within the church and community.

Please just contact us and we will let you know that is happening and perhaps even have more activities to tell you about.
