When I take people Communion in their home or in hospital they often speak about how much of a comfort it is to be able to share that. It often gives people an incredible amount of peace, knowing that Jesus is present and feeding us by faith in a heavenly and spiritual manner.
In the Anglican church, Holy Communion is a central part of our worship. It’s a beautiful gift that Jesus gave to us, to comfort and strengthen us.
In our church it’s the responsibility of parents to determine when their kids are ready to take part in Communion, and it’s their responsibility, with the church, to ensure that their children have an appropriate understanding of what they are taking part in.
I recently met up with two families who wanted their children to be able to take part fully in Communion in our church, and I look forward to “admitting” them to Communion in our church services in the near future. I’m looking at having another Communion discovery session for families in the near future, probably in the January school holidays. If you haven’t done so already, please let me know if you would like your family to be involved.
Blessings, Murray

Missing church on Sunday?
If you can’t make it to worship on the weekend, please don’t forget that we have alternatives during the week. On the first and third Monday evening of each month we have services with times for listening to God. The first Monday evening of each month we have a Healing Eucharist at 6pm, the third Monday of each month we offer a time of worship and Christian meditation.
If you can’t worship with us on Sunday, we would love to welcome you to worship with us on Monday or Thursday. The next meditation service is this coming Monday night.

Hall door key
The door on the St John’s Hall now has a keycode entry lock.
If you had a key that gave you entry to the hall, it will still open the toilet door but not the front door. Please contact Murray on 02 49275399 to get either a PIN code or a key-tag that will open the door.
If you don’t have a key but need access to the hall, the location of the key is still the same, but you need to swipe the tag rather than open the door with the key. If you have any questions, please let us know!
Advent Candle
This Sunday’s Advent candle is given in memory of Mary Weston Benson, aged 9 years.
