We love to host Newcastle Christmas services and we look forward to welcoming you to our celebrations this year. Our Christmas services are held in the grounds of St John’s Church in Cooks Hill (weather permitting) or in the beautiful historic St John’s church building. Whether you are a local Newcastle resident or visiting our beautiful city, you would be very welcome to join us for our Christmas services and our New Years’ Eve worship this year!

Messy Christmas activity session: Sunday 3 December 2017 5pm. ‘Messy Christmas’ is a place to get some great family time while you get busy learning and making in the preparation for the “most wonderful time of the year!” Activities, crafts, stories, songs, and a Christmas prayer – all followed by a delicious community meal. Combined Christmas Carols service: Sunday 10 December 2017
7:30pm with free BBQ in the church grounds.
Christmas Eve Services: Sunday 24 December 2017
9am – Traditional Communion service. 1 hour (in St John’s Church)
5pm – Family and Children’s service on the church lawn. 45 minutes
7m – Modern Christmas Service with carols & worship music. 1 hour (includes Holy Communion)
11pm – Carols, followed by: 11:30pm Midnight Mass with traditional carols. Service concludes just after midnight (includes Holy Communion)
Christmas Day: Monday 25 December 2017
9am – Traditional Christmas Celebration. 1 hour (includes Holy Communion)
New Year’s Eve: Sunday 31 December 2017
10:45am – New Year’s Eve service. 1 hour (includes Holy Communion)
12noon – New Year’s Eve lunch. Come across to Lowlands Bowling Club after the service and eat from the Bistro or join us for BBQ and Bowls out on the green. Younger kids are welcome and can play in the grounds of Centennial Park.
