Safe Ministry with Children at St John’s

1. Getting a Working With Children Check:
Apply for a Working With Children Check online and follow the “Apply for your Check” button. After following the instructions, and you will be provided with a number and asked to go to the RTA, or Services NSW and submit the number with your ID. This is simply to verify your identity. After everything has been processed you will be sent an email and/or SMS message with your final WWCC number on it.
Once you have received that, please download this Working-With-Children-Check-Notification-Form and complete it with your WWCC number and hand it to Rob Woolfrey, our Children and Youth Minister. We use the information you have provided on the form (your date of birth and name at birth) to verify your registration. We will remind you when your next registration is due.

2. Safe Ministry Training.
Safer Churches Training involves a one-day course to start with, with half-day refresher courses. The list of upcoming courses is found through the Diocese of Newcastle website at: http://newcastleanglican.org.au/mission-ministries/safe-ministry-training/ . We require volunteers to complete this training, but we strongly recommend that all parents and people with a passion for keeping St John’s safe undertaking this training. It’s an excellent resource for all parents who are concerned about the safety of their children, whatever institutions and groups they are associated with.
