9am Sunday

This is a family-oriented service that enjoys a mix of all age groups, and includes worship with hymns, accompanied by gifted organists playing the oldest pipe organ in Newcastle.

This service respects and holds closely to the traditions of the Anglican Church, using the Second Order of the Anglican Holy Communion. Sunday school is a vibrant part of the parish and is offered at the 9am service during school term.

Kids Church | 9:00am Sunday

Our 9am Sunday School is offered for school-ready children from the start of the service. Age-appropriate classes are held upstairs in the Sunday School room in the church hall, and include lectionary-based lessons and activities using Seasons of the Spirit resources. The children return to the church in time for Holy Communion with their families.

Resources and toys are always available at the back of the church for younger children, and children and babies of all ages are always welcome at St John’s.
